운보원은 지난 1985년 ‘청각장애인직업훈련원’으로 출발해, 1993년 포천군 제1호 장애인생활시설로 지정됐다.
현재는 33명의 이용인과 25명의 종사자가 함께 생활하며, 일상생활 지원을 비롯해 사회적응 교육, 직업훈련 등 다양한 자립 지원 프로그램을 운영하며, 청각장애인의 삶의 질 향상에 기여하고 있다.
