월성원전, 지진·해일 복합재난 대비 방사능방재 전체훈련 실시

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국수력원자력(주) 월성원자력본부(본부장 정원호)는 4월 29일(화), 지진과 해일 등 복합 자연재해 상황을 가정한 월성3호기 및 신월성1호기 방사능방재 전체훈련을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 훈련은 자연재해로 인해 발전소 설비에 다중 고장이 발생하고, 소내외 전원 공급이 차단된 비상 상황을 가정하여 진행됐다. 특히 다수 호기에서 동시에 문제가 발생하는 복합 사고 상황을 설정함으로써 실전 대응체계 점검과 비상계획의 실효성 검증에 중점을 두었다.

훈련에는 월성 2, 3발전소 비상요원 316명이 전원 참여했으며, 원자력안전위원회 등 규제기관이 현장을 참관해 훈련의 신뢰성과 공신력을 높였다.

주요 훈련 내용은 ▲비상요원 소집 및 임무 수행 ▲유관기관 간 실시간 정보 공유 ▲이동형 발전차를 활용한 전력 복구 ▲방사능 오염 환자에 대한 의료 구호 활동 등으로 구성됐다.

정원호 월성본부장은 “이번 훈련은 다중호기 사고에 대한 체계적인 대응 능력을 강화하는 중요한 계기가 되었다”며, “앞으로도 어떠한 극한 사고에도 대응할 수 있는 안전한 원전 운영체계를 지속적으로 고도화하겠다”고 강조했다.

한편, 월성원자력본부는 주기적인 방재 훈련과 함께 지역사회와의 협력 강화를 통해 안전하고 신뢰받는 원전 운영에 총력을 기울이고 있다.

This training was conducted assuming an emergency situation where multiple failures occur in power plant facilities due to a natural disaster and power supply inside and outside the plant is cut off. In particular, it focused on checking the actual response system and verifying the effectiveness of the emergency plan by setting up a composite accident situation where problems occur simultaneously in multiple units.

All 316 emergency personnel from Wolseong Units 2 and 3 participated in the training, and regulatory agencies such as the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission observed the site to increase the reliability and credibility of the training.
