(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 20일, 병원선 서비스가 제한됐던 백령·대청면 주민을 대상으로 병원선 순회진료를 시작한다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면, 신규 병원선이 임시 운영되는 동안 200여 명의 백령·대청면 주민이 의료서비스를 받을 예정이다.
‘인천 531호(선령 25년)’의 노후화로 운항 안정성을 우려한 인천시는 지난 2021년 신규 병원선 건조를 결정했다.
2025년 4월 건조된 ‘건강옹진호’의 규모는 길이 47.2m, 폭 8.4m, 깊이 3.6m로 최대 44명까지 승선이 가능하다.
기존 병원선(108톤)보다 두 배 이상 몸집을 키운 건강옹진호(270톤)는 시간당 최대 46km까지 속도를 낼 수 있다.
몸집이 커진 덕에 더 멀리 있는 섬까지 순항이 가능해졌으며 빨라진 속도 덕에 위급 상황 시 다수의 응급환자를 후송하는 응급체계로도 이용이 가능해졌다.
‘인천531호’가 의료기관이 없는 옹진군의 3개 면, 9개 도서지역을 중심으로 운영된 것과 달리 ‘건강옹진호’의 서비스 대상 지역은 6개면 17개 도서로 관내 비연륙도서 전 지역 진료가 가능해졌다.

또, 인공지능 심장검사 장비(SmartECG-AF)는 10초간의 정상동율동(ECG)에 미세하게 내재되어 있는 신호를 AI로 분석해 환자의 심장 건강상태를 확인할 수 있어 심장질환예측과 조기 진단이 가능하다.
검사 결과는 보건소 내과에서 1차 판독을 실시하며, 이상 소견이 있는 경우 인하대병원 심장내과 전문의 진료로 연계할 예정이다.
이밖에도 시는 1섬 1주치병원과 민간병원, 의료봉사단체의 전문의 의료진과 병원선 의료장비를 활용한 다양한 진료를 제공할 방침이다.
