지난해에는 작전역 남측부터 부평IC까지 계양대로 일원 및 동양동, 귤현동, 장기동 택기개발지구 내 간판 1,100여 개를 점검했으며, 올해는 계산택지 내 일부 구간과 경명대로의 계산역~임학사거리 구간을 집중 점검할 예정이다.
점검 결과 안전사고가 우려되는 위험 간판에 대해서는 즉시 시정명령 등을 통해 자진 정비를 유도하며, 이후 재점검을 통해 조치 이행 여부를 확인할 계획이다.
