충남 예산군이 지역 자원을 웹툰 산업과 연결해 새로운 문화관광 모델을 발굴하는 데 나섰다. 군은 지난 12일부터 13일까지 덕산면 스플라스 리솜에서 열린 ‘2025 충남 글로벌 웹툰 연구 학술행사’와 연계해, 전국 만화·웹툰 관계자 100여 명이 예산시장을 직접 방문하는 자리를 마련했다고 17일 밝혔다.
이번 방문은 충남콘텐츠진흥원(원장 김곡미)이 주관했으며, 최재구 예산군수와 김곡미 원장이 함께 현장을 동행했다. 두 기관장은 예산시장과 주변 지역의 콘텐츠 자원 가능성을 함께 살펴보며, 문화·관광 융합 발전 방향에 대한 의견을 나눴다.
김곡미 원장은 현장 소감을 전하며 “예산시장이 점차 문화와 콘텐츠가 어우러지는 공간으로 자리 잡고 있다”며 “진흥원도 지역 자원이 활발히 활용될 수 있도록 다방면에서 함께 고민하겠다”고 말했다.
최재구 군수는 “예산시장, 예당호 출렁다리 등 지역의 주요 명소가 웹툰이나 다양한 콘텐츠 산업의 배경과 소재로 활용될 수 있도록 진흥원의 적극적인 관심과 협력을 요청드린다”고 밝혔다.
예산군은 이번 행사를 계기로 전통시장 등 지역 고유 자산을 디지털 콘텐츠로 재해석하는 방향을 구체화하고, 웹툰 산업과 지역경제가 상호 보완적으로 발전할 수 있는 기반을 다져간다는 계획이다.
