시는 19일 시청 대외협력실에서 롯데백화점 포항점과 청년 창업 인재 육성을 위한 업무 협약을 맺었다. 이번 협약은 청년 창업가들에게 실질적인 판로 개척 기회를 제공하고, 지역사회와 대형 유통기업 간 상생 모델을 구축하기 위해 추진됐다.
이날 협약식에는 장상길 포항시 부시장과 시 관계자를 비롯해 강성철 롯데백화점 포항점장, 지역 대학 관계자, 그리고 청년 창업가들이 참석했다. 특히 포항대학교와 선린대학교 산학협력단도 참여해 창업가 POOL 구축, 창업 교육, 사후 성장관리 등 종합적인 창업 지원에 힘을 보태기로 했다.
협약에 따라 포항시는 청년 창업가 공동 발굴 및 모집, 관련 부서 간 협업 체계 구축을 담당한다. 롯데백화점 포항점은 백화점 내 팝업스토어 공간 제공 및 운영, 마케팅 홍보 채널 지원 등을 맡는다.
업무 협약에 이어 오는 20일부터 26일까지 일주일간 롯데백화점 포항점 지하 1층 식품관에서는 지역 청년 창업가 5개 팀이 참여하는 팝업스토어가 열린다. 이번 팝업스토어에서는 세정제, 수제 디저트, 차(Tea), 음료, 와인 패키지 등 일상 속 생활 밀착형 제품들을 선보이며, 청년 창업가들의 개성과 아이디어가 담긴 브랜드들을 만날 수 있다.
장상길 부시장은 "이번 협약은 청년 창업가들이 시장 진입의 문턱을 넘고 브랜드 가치를 키울 수 있는 중요한 계기가 될 것"이라며, "대기업과 지자체가 협력해 지역 청년 창업 생태계를 조성하는 대표 사례로 자리매김할 것"이라고 밝혔다. 이어 "청년이 포항에 머무르고 도전할 수 있는 여건을 만들기 위해 민간 협력 모델을 지속 확대하고, 초기 창업부터 성장까지 촘촘히 지원하겠다"고 덧붙였다.
한편, 팝업스토어와 관련해 추가 운영도 계획하고 있으며, 참여를 원하는 창업가는 포항시청 일자리청년과로 문의하면 자세한 안내를 받을 수 있다. 팝업스토어는 포항시에 주소 또는 사업장을 둔 만 19세~39세 이하 청년 창업가를 대상으로 하며, 일정 요건을 충족하면 별도 신청 절차에 따라 참여 신청이 가능하다.
