(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 수도권매립지관리공사(이하 공사)가 지난 20일, ‘드림파크장학회’에서 2025년 특기장학생으로 선발된 이지언 학생에게 특별장학금을 전달했다고 밝혔다.
공사에 따르면, 드림파크장학회는 매년 다양한 분야에서 재능과 가능성을 보여준 학생을 선발해 장학금을 지원하고 있으며, 2025년에는 총 127명에게 1억8,950만 원의 장학금을 지급하고 있다.
이지언 학생은 올해 선발된 특기장학생 중 한 명으로, 만 15세의 나이에 미국 펜실베이니아주에 있는 세계적 명문 커티스 음악원(Curtis Institute of Music)에 최종 합격해 2025년 가을학기 정규 입학을 앞두고 있다.
드림파크장학회는 이번 특별장학금 전달을 통해 학생의 노력과 성취를 격려하고, 지역 인재 발굴과 육성을 위한 장학사업의 지속성과 의의를 다시 한번 확인했다.
이날 수여식에서 이지언 학생은 “커티스 음악원에 입학하게 되어 매우 기쁘고 감사한 마음입니다. 앞으로도 음악에 대한 열정을 잃지 않고 최선을 다해 성장하겠습니다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
