(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천계양소방서가 지난 20일 본서 강당에서 김희곤 서장의 37년 소방 생활을 마무리하는 퇴임식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
계양소방서에 따르면, 이번 행사는 시민의 생명과 재산 보호를 위해 헌신하고 명예롭게 퇴임하는 김 서장의 노고에 감사의 마음을 전하고, 오랜 시간 동고동락한 직원들과 뜻깊은 시간을 보내기 위해 마련됐다.
퇴임식에는 소방공무원, 의용소방대원 등 내ㆍ외빈 160여 명이 참석해 김 서장의 퇴임을 축하하고 격려했다.
김희곤 서장은 1988년 6월 소방에 입직한 이래 37년간 인천소방본부 예방안전과 예방총괄팀장과 영종소방서장 등 요직을 거치며 인천 소방조직의 발전을 위해 헌신했다. 지난해 7월 계양소방서장에 부임해 계양구민들의 귀중한 생명과 재산을 지키는 데 힘썼다.
특히 김 서장은 재직 기간 중 기존 임대방식으로 운영되던 인천 소방 급식소를 직영 운영으로 전환하여 식사의 질을 높이고 직원들이 더욱 건강하고 쾌적한 환경에서 근무할 수 있도록 복지 향상에 크게 공헌했다.
김 서장은 퇴임사에서 “소방공무원으로 살아온 지난 시간이 너무나 자랑스럽고 행복했다”며 “늘 묵묵히 함께해 준 직원 여러분 덕분에 여기까지 올 수 있었다”고 고마움을 전했다.
