(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 수도권매립지관리공사(이하 공사)가 23일, SRT 운영사 국민철도 에스알(SR, 대표이사 이종국), 사회적기업인 도서출판 이음과 함께 지난해 3월 출간한 어린이 환경교육도서(「구독과 좋아요, 탄소제로 여행」) 국문판에 이어 영어·몽골어 번역본 출간 기념 대국민 공모전을 개최한다고 밝혔다.
공사에 따르면, 이번 공모전은 영어·몽골어 번역도서 제목(네이밍), 독후감 쓰기 등 두 부문으로 진행되며, 수상되는 네이밍은 번역본 출간 시 도서의 공식 제목으로 사용될 예정이다.
공모기간은 7월 31일까지이며, 전 국민 누구나 참여할 수 있다.
공모 접수는 이메일을 통한 온라인과 우편으로 가능하며 시상은 38건을 선정해 총 600만 원의 온누리상품권을 수여한다.
공모 결과 발표는 9월 중 수상자에게 개별 안내될 예정이며, 공모전 관련 자세한 내용은 공사 누리집 공지사항에서 확인할 수 있다.
「구독과 좋아요, 탄소제로 여행」 영어·몽골어 번역본은 한국·몽골·독일 등 국문 도서에 나오는 등장인물의 다양한 국적을 고려하는 동시에 탄소중립에 대한 글로벌 관심을 유도하고자 기획했다.
오는 10월 출간되며, 공사에서 국제 온실가스 감축사업으로 추진 중인 몽골 울란바트로시 매립장 인근 소재 초등학교와 국내 다문화 가정 등에 도서를 배포할 계획이다.
송병억 사장은 “이번 공모전은 단순한 언어 변환을 넘어, 각 문화와 국민들이 탄소중립이라는 글로벌 이슈를 자신만의 언어로 풀어내는 과정이라 생각한다”며, “각국의 감수성과 상상력이 담긴 제목과 감상들이 「구독과 좋아요, 탄소제로여행」의 메시지를 더 넓고 깊게 전해줄 것이라 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

Capital Area Landfill Management Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the Corporation) announced on the 23rd that it will hold a national contest to commemorate the publication of English and Mongolian translations of the children's environmental education book ("Subscribe and Like, Carbon Zero Travel") published in March of last year, in collaboration with SRT operator Kookmin Railroad SR (SR, CEO Lee Jong-guk) and social enterprise publishing company Ieum.
According to the corporation, this contest will be divided into two categories: English/Mongolian translation book title (naming) and book review writing, and the winning name will be used as the official title of the book when the translation is published.
The contest period is until July 31, and anyone in the country can participate.
Applications can be submitted online via email and by mail, and 38 cases will be selected to receive a total of 6 million won in Onnuri gift certificates.

The English/Mongolian translation of “Subscribe and Like, Carbon-Free Travel” was planned to encourage global interest in carbon neutrality while considering the various nationalities of the characters in the Korean book, including Korea, Mongolia, and Germany.
