(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 지난 24일, 지역 대학생들의 창업 역량 강화를 위한 ‘제2회 인천 대학연합 창업아카데미’가 송도 포스코 글로벌R&D센터에서 개막되어 본격적인 일정에 돌입했다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면, 이날 개막식에는 유정복 인천시장, 김유곤 인천시의회 산업경제위원장, 이주호 인천테크노파크 원장, 박병근 인천글로벌캠퍼스운영재단 대표이사, 그리고 13개 대학의 총장 및 관계자들이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.
이번 창업아카데미는 인천시가 주최하고 인천테크노파크, 인천글로벌캠퍼스운영재단, 관내 13개 대학이 공동 주관하며, ‘인천 대학주도형 청년창업플랫폼 운영 사업’의 일환으로 추진된다.
작년에 이어 두 번째로 열리는 이번 행사는 규모가 한층 확대됐으며, 창업캠프, 창업디딤돌, 창업경진대회의 3단계 프로그램으로 구성돼 있다.
올해 아카데미에는 관내 9개 대학과 글로벌캠퍼스 4개 대학이 새롭게 참여하고, 창업동아리 팀이 신설되어 총 180여 명의 대학생이 참가했다.
참여 대학은 인천가톨릭대학교, 인천대학교, 인하대학교, 경인여자대학교, 인하공업전문대학, 재능대학교, 한국폴리텍대학 인천캠퍼스, 연세대학교 국제캠퍼스, 청운대학교, 한국뉴욕주립대학교, 한국조지메이슨대학교, 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스, 유타대학교 아시아캠퍼스로 총 13개 대학이다.
6월 24일부터 27일까지 진행되는 1단계 창업캠프에서는 ‘인천 시민의 삶의 질 향상’을 주제로 창업 아이템을 발굴하고, 우수팀을 선발하게 된다.
이후 창업디딤돌 프로그램을 통해 팀별 역량을 강화하며, 오는 9월에 개최되는 창업경진대회에서 일반부 13개 팀과 창업동아리 4개 팀을 최종 시상할 예정이다.
수상팀에게는 총상금 960만 원과 2,700만 원의 사업화 자금이 지원된다. 특히, 대상 수상팀에게는 해외 전시회 참관 기회와 글로벌 네트워킹 프로그램 등 실질적인 글로벌 진출 지원 혜택이 제공된다.
유정복 시장은 개회사를 통해 “인천은 창업의 최적지로, 어려운 국내외 경제 여건 속에서도 인천만이 유일하게 높은 창업 증가율을 기록하고 있다”며 “올해 대학들과 함께 조성한 청년 창업펀드를 통해 우수한 창업팀에 아낌없는 투자를 하겠다”고 말하며 청년 창업가들을 응원했다.
