[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 국립부경대학교 PKNU 학생봉사단 학생들이 지난 25일 부산 유엔기념공원에서 열린 ‘제75주년 6·25전쟁 참전 유엔전몰용사 추모제’ 행사를 지원하며 참여했다.
유엔전몰용사 추모제는 한국전쟁 당시 한반도의 평화와 자유를 수호하기 위해 목숨을 바친 유엔군 전몰용사의 희생과 헌신을 기리기 위해 1998년부터 매년 유엔기념공원에서 열리고 있다.
봉사단 학생 30여 명은 이날 학생 대표 중 대학생 대표로 다른 참가자들과 함께 전몰용사들을 위해 헌화하고 묵념하는 등 행사에 참여해 전몰용사 추모하는 마음을 되새겼다.
행사를 마친 봉사단 학생들은 행사 후 정리 활동 등을 지원하고, 행사가 열린 유엔기념공원 일대에서 환경정화 봉사활동도 펼쳤다.
한편, PKNU 학생봉사단은 세계 유일 유엔평화문화특구인 부산시 남구에 위치한 국립부경대의 학생 봉사단체다. 2009년부터 해마다 참전유공자 보은행사를 개최하는 등 평화·보훈문화 확산에 기여해 온 데 이어 이번 행사도 지원했다.
