충남 논산시(시장 백성현)가 오는 7월 7일부터 9월 말까지 지역 내 감염취약시설을 대상으로 전방위적 감염관리 현장컨설팅을 실시한다. ‘시민 건강 최우선’이라는 시정 철학에 기반해 추진되는 이번 사업은 단순한 점검을 넘어 감염병 예방과 관리 역량의 전반적 수준 향상을 목표로 한다.
이번 컨설팅은 관내 요양시설 28개소, 주간보호센터 44개소를 포함한 총 90개 감염취약시설을 대상으로 진행된다. 시 보건소와 책임의료기관인 백제병원의 감염관리 전문인력 2인이 참여해 '감염관리체계 및 종사자 교육', '입소자 및 외부인 출입관리', '손 위생 실천 여부', '약품 및 위생자원 관리' 등 10개 영역에 걸쳐 46개 세부 항목을 집중 점검할 계획이다.
시는 현장 점검 결과를 바탕으로 감염관리 우수시설 6곳을 선별하고, 이들에 대해서는 단국대학교병원과 충청남도 감염병관리지원단이 참여하는 추가 심층 평가를 거쳐 최우수기관 1곳, 우수기관 2곳, 장려기관 3곳을 최종 선정할 방침이다. 선정된 기관에는 논산시장 표창이 수여되며, 이후 우수사례를 전체 시설과 공유해 감염관리 수준의 동반 상승을 도모할 예정이다.
시는 앞서 감염관리 지침을 종합한 가이드북을 제작·배포하고, 시설 종사자를 대상으로 실무 교육을 진행하는 등 사전 기반 구축에도 공을 들였다. 현장 실무 중심의 예방 대책 마련은 물론, 장기적으로는 자율적 관리체계 정착을 유도하기 위한 전략이기도 하다.
