충남지역 교원 267명, '구글 교육자 그룹' 출범

충청남도교육청(교육감 김지철)은 12일 아산 소재 선문대학교에서 도내 초·중·고 교원 267명이 참여한 가운데 ‘충남 구글 교육자 그룹(GEG, Google Educator Group)’ 발대식을 성공적으로 개최했다고 밝혔다.

구글 교육자 그룹(GEG)은 구글 포 에듀케이션(Google for Education) 플랫폼을 활용해 수업을 혁신하고자 하는 전 세계 교육자들이 자발적으로 구성하는 전문 학습공동체다. 

이번 충남 지역 그룹은 충남교육청과 구글 간의 ‘인공지능 교육 활성화’ 협력의 일환으로 출범하였으며, 교원의 디지털 전환 역량을 체계적으로 지원하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 행사는 '충남 GEG의 비전과 운영 방향 소개', '구글 포 에듀케이션 도구를 통한 교원 역량 강화 프로그램 공유', '생성형 AI 제미나이(Gemini)를 활용한 가상면담 진로교육 등 수업 사례 공유', '구글 교육자 인증 및 활동 안내', '소통과 협력 중심의 전문 학습공동체 조직' 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 구성돼 참석자들의 높은 호응을 얻었다.

특히, 생성형 인공지능을 실제 교육 현장에 접목한 진로지도 수업 시연은 교사들에게 큰 영감을 주었으며, GEG를 통한 교사 간 전문성 교류에 대한 기대감도 높아졌다.

김지철 충남교육감은 “이번 충남 구글 교육자 그룹 모집은 조기 마감될 정도로 디지털 교육을 향한 현장의 열정과 기대감을 실감할 수 있었다”라며, “앞으로도 디지털 기반의 교사 주도성을 강화하여 충남미래교육 실현을 선도하겠다”고 강조했다.

충남교육청은 향후 GEG 활동을 통해 교원 중심의 디지털 학습공동체를 지속적으로 확대하고, 구글 인증 교사 양성과 창의적 수업 문화 확산을 통해 미래형 교육환경 조성에 박차를 가할 방침이다.

In particular, the demonstration of career guidance class that applied generative AI to actual educational sites greatly inspired teachers, and expectations for professional exchange between teachers through GEG also increased.

Chungnam Superintendent of Education Kim Ji-cheol said, "This Chungnam Google Educator Group recruitment closed early, showing the passion and expectations of the field for digital education," and emphasized, "We will continue to strengthen digital-based teacher leadership and lead the realization of Chungnam's future education."

Chungnam Office of Education plans to continuously expand the teacher-centered digital learning community through future GEG activities and spur the creation of a future-oriented educational environment through training Google certified teachers and spreading a creative class culture.
