【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구청이 만든 뮤지컬 ‘내사랑 옥순씨’가 관객의 웃음과 눈물을 동시에 자아내며 화제의 중심에 섰다.
지역 어르신의 일상을 따뜻하게 그린 이 작품은 대덕문화전당에서 열린 공연에서 전석 매진을 기록했고, 주연 배우는 국제 뮤지컬 페스티벌 여우주연상까지 거머쥐었다.
남구는 지난 14일, ‘내사랑 옥순씨’의 연출가 정철원과 출연 배우들, 그리고 대구국제뮤지컬페스티벌(DIMF) 배성혁 집행위원장을 초청해 간담회를 열었다.
현장에서는 제19회 DIMF 특별공연 인증패가 전달됐고, 남구 문화콘텐츠 사업의 성과와 향후 발전 방향에 대한 논의가 이어졌다.
‘내사랑 옥순씨’는 치매를 앓는 할머니와 가족의 이야기를 유쾌하고 따뜻하게 풀어낸 트로트 뮤지컬이다.
진한 감정과 흥겨운 음악이 어우러져 관객들의 큰 공감을 이끌어냈고, 지난 6월 공연에서는 전 회차 매진이라는 성과를 올렸다. 작품 속 옥순씨 역을 맡은 배우 장은주는 29개 참가작 중 여우주연상 수상의 영광을 안았다.
흥행은 국내에만 그치지 않았다. 중국의 세계적 숏폼 드라마 제작사 미항미디어가 공연을 관람한 후 현지 공연 및 시나리오 수출에 관심을 보이며 협의가 본격화되고 있다.
배성혁 DIMF 집행위원장은 “남구가 만든 이 뮤지컬은 지역을 넘어 세계 무대에서도 통할 수 있다”며 “DIMF도 해외 진출을 위해 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
조재구 남구청장은 “남구 예술인들의 재능과 열정이 빛난 작품”이라며 “앞으로도 지역 이야기를 예술로 담아내는 콘텐츠 개발에 힘쓰고, 문화도시 남구를 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.
