충남 공주시(시장 최원철)는 공주시 학교운영위원장협의회(회장 오재원)와 함께 ‘2025 문화다양성 농촌체험 캠프’를 대장이랜드 농촌체험휴양마을에서 두 차례에 걸쳐 성공적으로 개최했다고 15일 밝혔다.
이번 프로그램은 초·중학생 40명을 대상으로 문화 다양성 교육과 농촌 체험을 유기적으로 결합해 기획된 체험형 교육 캠프다. 다문화 감수성을 자연스럽게 키우고, 지역사회에 대한 이해와 공동체 의식을 높이는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
캠프가 열린 지난 주말, 행사 현장에는 오재원 공주시 학교운영위원장협의회 회장을 비롯해 공주시 지역활력과 관계자, 마을 주민 등 다양한 주체들이 함께 참여해 자리를 빛냈다. 학생들은 여러 나라의 전통놀이를 비롯해 문화 다양성 강의, 농촌 생활 체험, 지역문화 공연 등 다채로운 프로그램을 통해 다양한 경험을 쌓았다.
참가자들은 각국의 놀이 문화를 체험하며 타문화를 존중하는 자세를 자연스럽게 익혔고, 농촌 마을 탐방과 협업 중심의 활동을 통해 공동체 속에서 배우는 교육의 가치를 체감했다.
이 캠프는 공주시와 학교운영위원장협의회가 공동으로 구상한 지역 교육 협력 사례로, 농촌 관광자원 연계와 포용적 지역사회 조성을 위한 실천적 모델이라는 점에서도 주목된다.
오재원 회장은 “이번 캠프가 우리 아이들에게 서로의 문화를 이해하고 존중하는 소중한 시간이 되었을 것”이라며, “앞으로도 지역사회와 학교가 함께 만들어가는 교육 환경이 정착될 수 있도록 지속적으로 힘을 보태겠다”고 말했다.
