예산군이 충청남도와 공동으로 실시한 정밀 상수도 누수탐사에서 뚜렷한 성과를 거두며 상수도 관리 효율성 제고에 의미 있는 첫발을 내디뎠다.
군은 28일, 예산읍 간양1리 일대에서 시간당 33톤 규모의 누수를 찾아내고 이를 완전히 복구함으로써 연간 약 28만5천 톤의 수돗물 절약 및 4억 6천만 원 상당의 예산 절감 효과를 달성했다고 밝혔다. 이는 수돗물 1톤당 생산원가 1,615원을 기준으로 산출된 금액으로, 단순 수리 차원을 넘어 상수도 공기업의 재정 건전성을 높이는 구조적 대책으로 평가된다.

지난 3월 발주된 통합관리용역의 일환으로 실시된 이번 작업에는 ㈜서용엔지니어링의 전문 탐사요원 2명이 투입돼, 지난 21일부터 이틀간 정밀 탐지 장비를 활용한 현장 진단을 실시했다. 그 결과, 총 두 곳에서 누수 지점을 확인하고 즉시 복구 작업을 마쳤다.
