경북교육청은 28일, 지난 4월부터 7월까지 도내 영유아 수 300명 미만 지역의 유치원과 어린이집 18곳을 대상으로 ‘1학기 찾아가는 문화 공연’을 운영했다고 밝혔다. 이번 프로그램은 경북예총과의 협력을 통해 기획된 ‘모락모락 온(溫)맘놀이터’ 사업의 일환으로, 국악·클래식·인형극 등 다양한 문화예술 공연을 유아 눈높이에 맞춰 선보였다.
50분 내외의 참여형 공연은 단순 관람을 넘어 예술 체험과 감성 표현을 유도하는 구성으로 운영돼, 유아들의 문화적 감수성과 표현력을 자연스럽게 길러주는 데 중점을 뒀다.
1학기 마지막 공연은 청송 진보초등학교병설유치원에서 열렸다. 동물 분장을 한 클래식 연주자들이 친숙한 동요와 함께 무대를 이끌었고, 아이들은 플루트, 튜바, 트롬본 등의 악기를 직접 만져보며 ‘꼬마 지휘자’ 체험까지 했다. 영양군에서는 신명 나는 국악 공연이 펼쳐져 유아들이 자발적으로 동요를 따라 부르고, 국악 동요의 ‘떼창’ 장면이 연출되기도 했다.
현장에 함께한 어린이집 교사들은 “거문고 소리를 아이들과 가까이서 듣는 건 처음이었다”며, “유아들이 정말 즐거워했고 교육적으로도 의미 있는 시간이었다”고 소감을 전했다.
경북교육청은 오는 9월부터 12월까지 2학기 프로그램을 본격 진행한다. 국악 5회, 클래식 1회, 인형극 6회 등 총 12회의 공연이 유치원과 어린이집 23곳, 약 370명의 유아를 대상으로 펼쳐질 예정이다. 울릉도도 새롭게 포함돼 문화 접근성이 떨어지는 섬 지역 유아들에게도 직접 찾아가는 예술 체험이 제공된다.
임종식 경북교육감은 “지역에 따라 문화 접근 격차가 발생하지 않도록, 예술 기반 돌봄 교육을 더욱 강화할 계획”이라며 “취약지역 유아들의 정서적 안정과 사회성 발달을 돕기 위한 문화예술 지원을 계속 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

A total of 12 performances, including 5 traditional Korean music performances, 1 classical music performance, and 6 puppet shows, will be held at 23 kindergartens and kindergartens for approximately 370 children.
