【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=영진전문대학교 반려동물과 학생들이 태국에서 진행한 글로벌 현장학습을 성공적으로 마무리했다. 이번 프로그램은 단순한 해외 연수를 넘어 실무 중심의 체험과 산학협력 네트워킹까지 아우르는 종합적 교육과정으로 진행됐다.
지난 23일부터 30일까지 7박 8일간 펼쳐진 이번 연수에는 2학년 학생 8명이 참여했다. 이종민 교수가 인솔한 가운데 전공 역량과 해외 연수 의지를 바탕으로 선발된 학생들은 태국의 선진 반려동물 산업을 직접 체험했다.
방콕의 플루프 펫 웰니스 센터에서는 유기동물 보호와 재활 시스템을 살펴보며, 병원·미용·유치원이 하나로 통합된 원스톱 서비스 모델을 경험했다. 포미리 펫 컴퍼니에서는 개별 맞춤형 케어 시스템의 실제 운영 과정을 관찰하며 현장 감각을 익혔다.
특히 두 기관과 체결한 산학협력 업무협약은 이번 연수의 성과를 더욱 의미 있게 만들었다. 현장실습 기회 제공부터 졸업생 채용 연계, 기술 교류와 세미나 운영까지 포괄하는 협약을 통해 지속적인 교류 기반을 다졌다.
2025 삼웃프라칸 도그클럽 챔피언십 도그쇼 참관에서는 다양한 견종의 전시와 심사 과정을 직접 목격하며 국제적 반려동물 문화의 깊이를 체감했다. 태국 켄넬클럽 총재와의 간담회에서는 양국 반려동물 산업의 현재와 미래를 논의하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.
참가 학생들의 반응도 뜨거웠다. 허다연 학생은 "현장에서 직접 보고 느낀 경험이 전공에 대한 확신을 심어줬다"고 말했고, 김혜원 학생은 "이론으로만 알던 내용들이 실무와 어떻게 연결되는지 생생하게 이해할 수 있었다"고 소감을 전했다.
이종민 교수는 "학생들이 글로벌 스탠다드를 직접 경험하며 시야를 넓힌 것이 가장 큰 성과"라며 "이번 연수가 미래 반려동물 전문가로서의 역량을 키우는 중요한 전환점이 될 것"이라고 평가했다.
