[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 국립창원대학교는 7일 대학본부에서 '경남형 UGRIC 추진위원회 간담회'를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이날 간담회에는 국립창원대 박민원 총장, 창신대학교 최경희 총장, 창원문성대학교 이원석 총장, 마산대학교 이학진 총장, 한국승강기대학교 이현석 총장, 경남도립남해대학 노영식 총장, 경남도립거창대학 윤경섭 교무처장 등 지역 7개 대학 총장과 보직자 등 30여 명이 참석했다.
국립창원대는 지난달 1일 개최된 '경남형 UGRIC 추진위원회' 출범식에서 박민원 총장이 설명한 ‘미국 캘리포니아 주의 주립대 시스템’와 같이, 지역대학 간 연합·연계를 통해 다양한 분야에서 활동할 수 있는 미래 인재를 양성하는 방안을 함께 논의하기 위해 이번 간담회를 마련했다.
박민원 총장 주재로 진행된 간담회에서 논의된 주요 내용은 지역대학 간 공동 교육과정 운영, 공동 프로그램(사업) 추진 등의 협력 방안 등이었으며, 이를 바탕으로 다음 달 지역대학 간 업무협약(MOU) 체결도 추진할 계획이다.
이에 따라 간담회에 참석한 대학들은 협약대학간 학점교류, 보장 편입제도, 협약대학간 공동학위제, 공동교육과정 개발, 공동연구지원 및 지역 시민 교육컨텐츠 제공, 그 밖의 상호간 필요하다고 인정하는 사항 등의 내용을 중심으로 협의해 나갈 예정이다.
국립창원대 박민원 총장은 “이제는 대학이 단독으로 생존하는 시대가 아니라, 서로 협력하고 자원을 공유하여 지역과 함께 성장해야 하는 시기이다”며 “경남형 UGRIC을 통해서 지역대학 간 협업의 성공 모델을 만들어 나가겠다”고 강조했다.
국립창원대는 지역 내 대학의 연계성 강화를 위해 창원에 소재한 대학교부터 협력을 시작해서 지속적으로 도내 대학들과의 협력을 확대해 나갈 방침이다.
