[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산 강서경찰서는 지난 7월 29일 새벽 2시 36분경, 부산 강서구 명지동에 위치한 폐업한 귀금속점에 침입해 약 200점, 시가 2천만 원 상당의 귀금속을 절취한 피의자를 검거해 구속했다고 13일 밝혔다.
피의자는 범행 당시 모자, 복면, 장갑 등을 착용한 채 옆 점포의 가벽을 넘어 침입한 것으로 조사됐다. 또한 범행 전 중고 거래 플랫폼인 '당근마켓'을 통해 피해 점포에 접근, 거래를 가장해 현장을 사전 답사한 것으로 드러났다.
경찰은 사건 접수 즉시 형사 인력을 집중 투입하고, 탐문 수사와 CCTV 추적, 주변 잠복 등을 통해 사건 발생 하루 만에 피의자를 특정했다. 이후 피의자의 도피 행각을 추적한 끝에 모텔에 은신 중이던 피의자를 검거했다.
경찰은 현재 피의자의 도피를 도운 조력자들을 대상으로 범인도피 및 은닉 혐의에 대해서도 추가 수사를 진행 중이다.

Busan Gangseo Police Station (Chief Ha Jae-cheol) announced on August 13 that a suspect has been arrested and taken into custody for breaking into a closed jewelry store in Myeongji-dong, Gangseo District, Busan, in the early hours of July 29.
According to the police, the incident occurred at approximately 2:36 a.m. The suspect allegedly broke into the vacant store through a partition wall of a neighboring shop, wearing a hat, mask, and gloves. Around 200 pieces of silver necklaces and rings, worth approximately 20 million KRW (roughly 15,000 USD), were stolen from display drawers.
The investigation revealed that the suspect had previously visited the store under the pretense of conducting a transaction through a second-hand goods platform, "Danggeun Market," to scout the location in advance.
Upon receiving the report, the Gangseo Police deployed all available investigators and launched an intensive investigation. Through field interviews, CCTV analysis, and stakeouts in the suspect’s known areas, authorities managed to identify the suspect within a day and later apprehended him at a motel while he was in hiding.
Police have also confirmed that they are pursuing additional charges against individuals who aided the suspect during his escape, under allegations of harboring and assisting a fugitive.
