【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 중구청이 경북대학교사범대학부설고등학교에서 ‘찾아가는 자전거·개인형 이동장치 안전교육’을 진행했다고 14일 밝혔다.
최근 공유 킥보드를 비롯한 개인형 이동장치 이용이 급격히 늘면서 안전사고와 무분별한 주정차 등 사회 문제가 잇따르고 있다.
특히 청소년과 청년층의 이용 비율이 높아, 중구는 학생들을 대상으로 교통안전 의식을 높이고 보호장비 착용 등 기본 수칙을 강조했다.
중구는 매년 교통안전교육과 캠페인을 펼치고 있으며, 지난해에는 노인복지관 어르신 500여 명을 대상으로 자전거 안전교육을 진행했다. 올해 교육은 경북대사대부고, 계성중학교 등에서 1,000여 명의 학생을 대상으로 순차적으로 이어질 예정이다.
류규하 중구청장은 “자전거와 개인형 이동장치는 편리하고 친환경적이지만, 무분별한 이용으로 사고 위험과 도시 미관 저해 문제가 발생한다”며 “전동킥보드는 원동기장치자전거 2종 이상 운전면허가 필요하지만 지켜지지 않는 경우가 많다. 앞으로도 지속적인 교육과 캠페인으로 주민 모두가 안심할 수 있는 교통환경을 만들겠다”고 말했다.
