[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도가 국가유산청 주관 ‘2026년 세계유산축전 사업’ 공모에 선정되어 '26년 국비 15억 원을 확보했다고 15일 밝혔다.
세계유산축전은 우리나라 유네스코 세계유산의 가치와 의미를 누구나 쉽고 재미있게 이해하고 즐길 수 있는 세계유산을 대상으로 한 공연·체험·전시 등 다양한 프로그램의 국가유산청 기획 사업으로 매년 공모로 시행되고 있다.
'26년 세계유산축전 공모 선정은 통합관리기구인 가야고분군 세계유산관리재단의 9월 공식 출범과 함께 경남김해·함안·합천·고성·창녕, 경북고령, 전북남원의 7개 지자체가 힘을 합쳐 이루어낸 성과이다.
특히, 이번 축전을 통해 가야고분군의 세계유산적 가치를 향유하고, 확산할 수 있는 고품질의 문화유산 복합 콘텐츠의 특별한 문화유산 경험을 할 수 있는 자리가 마련돼 공모 선정에 의미가 있다.
가야고분군 세계유산은 김해 대성동, 함안 말이산, 합천 옥전, 고성 송학동, 창녕 교동과 송현동, 고령 지산동, 남원 유곡리와 두락리 고분으로 가야고분군은 연맹이라는 독특한 정치체계를 유지하며 중앙집권적 고대국가와 병존하는 동아시아 고대문명의 한 유형을 보여주는 중요한 세계유산이다.
경남도와 가야고분군 세계유산관리재단은 가야고분군의 역사적 중요성 재조명 및 가치 확산을 위하여 3개의 다양한 프로그램으로 구성했다.
