학산도서관에 따르면, 이번 대회는 인천대학교 재학생은 물론, 인천지역에 거주하거나 인천 소재의 대학교에 재학 중인 학부생이라면 누구나 참가할 수 있다.
인천대학교 필독교양도서 4개 분야(과학, 문학, 사회, 인문)에서 분야별로 선정된 4권의 도서 중 한 권을 읽고 서평을 작성한 뒤, 응모 기간(9월 22일~10월 17일) 내에 이메일로 제출하면 서평대회에 참가할 수 있다.
선정된 4권의 필독서는 그림으로 보는 시간의 역사/스티븐 호킹,설국/가와바타 야스나리, 다문화주의 시민권/윌 킴리카, 전태일 평전/조영래 등 이다.
시상 내역은 최우수상 1명(총장상, 문화상품권 50만원), 우수상 2명(도서관장상, 각 문화상품권 25만원), 장려상 5명(도서관장상, 각 문화상품권 10만원)으로 총 8명에게 부상이 수여된다.
