경남도는 17일 도청 소회의실에서 ‘도지사와 2025년 국가직 수습사무관과의 솔직·공감 토크’를 개최했다.
이날 박완수 도지사는 선배 공직자로서 수습사무관들에게 해주고 싶은 조언이 무엇인지에 대한 질문에 “공직자는 주어지는 권한 만큼 책임와 의무가 따른다”며 “권한을 누리는 것보다 책임과 의무를 먼저 생각하고 무엇이 국민을 위해 최선인지를 고민하는 공직자가 되길 바란다”고 답했다.
또 공직자로서 보람 있었던 순간이 언제냐는 질문에는 “도민들에게 그 혜택을 직접 줄 수 있는 업무와 동료와의 협업을 통해 성과를 이루어 냈을 때”라고 답하며 “수습사무관들도 중앙과 지방의 상생을 깊이 있게 고민하여 수혜자 중심의 정책 설계로 공직자로서 보람을 느끼며 일하길 바란다”고 답했다.
또한 “이번 실무수습이 여러분들에게 의미 있고 유익한 경험으로 남길 바란다”며, “앞으로 중앙부처와 우리 도의 든든한 연결고리가 되어달라”고 당부했다.
이날 솔직·공감 토크는 경남도에서 지난 8월 23일부터 실무수습을 시작한 2025년 국가직 공채 사무관 10명과 함께한 자리로, 오는 19일 실무수습 종료를 앞두고 실무경험을 되돌아보는 시간으로 진행됐다.
이들 수습사무관은 금융위원회, 행정안전부, 환경부, 해양수산부, 고용노동부, 방송통신위원회, 특허청 등 중앙부처로의 발령을 앞두고 있으며, 수도권 출신이 많은 만큼 경남에 대한 이해와 경험을 쌓는 좋은 기회가 됐다.
경남도는 이들이 일선 지방자치단체의 행정에 대한 경험을 쌓을 수 있도록 임용예정 부처와의 연계성, 희망 부서를 고려해 배치하고, 도정 이해를 위해 주력산업 현장이나 대표관광지, 유관기관 방문 등 다양한 현장 중심 프로그램을 운영해 왔다.
주요 프로그램은 △선진화된 응급구조 대응체계 시찰, △대표산업인 원자력 발전산업 현장 시찰, △전통 기반 제조업과 인공지능(AI) 기술을 접목한 스마트 공장 현장 시찰, △남해안 관광지 방문 등으로 구성됐다.
특히 이날 오후에는 산청 지역의 호우 피해 현장을 찾아 재난·재해 대응체계와 중앙정부의 역할 등에 대해 함께 고민하는 시간도 마련될 예정이다.
수습사무관들은 “제조, 조선, 방산, 관광산업 등 경남의 주요 현장을 직접 방문하며 도정을 더 깊이 이해할 수 있었다”며 “쉽게 접하기 어려운 값진 경험이었다. 소중한 기억으로 간직하겠다”고 소감을 전했다.
