[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 부산 부전역부터 경남 김해, 창원, 마산을 연결하는 핵심 광역철도망 확충사업이 본격화 됐다.
김해시 진례면 산본리 일원 부전~마산 복선전철 구간 정거장인 신월역 기공식이 24일 지역 국회의원, 도·시의원, 국가철도공단, 스마트레일㈜ 관계자와 주민 등 200여 명이 참석한 가운데 열렸다.
부전~마산 복선전철 구간에 신설되는 신월역은 총사업비 446억 원(국비 51억, 시비 395억), 부지 19,706㎡, 연면적 1,496㎡에 지상역사 1동(연면적 1,486㎡), 지하연결통로(678㎡), 승강장 2곳 규모로 신설되며, 2027년 시운전과 개통을 목표로 하고 있다.
신월역은 진례면 일대 주민들의 숙원사업으로 해당 사업이 완료되면 진례면과 장유 일대 주민들의 교통 접근성이 획기적으로 개선되고 주변 산업단지, 물류기지와의 연계성이 크게 강화될 전망이다.
특히 창원-김해를 연결하는 광역철도망과의 연계를 통해 동남권 통합교통체계 기반 마련에도 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
