[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 '제106회 전국체육대회'와 '제45회 전국장애인체육대회'의 성공적인 개최를 기원하는 성화 합화 및 출발식을 13일 오전 시청 시민광장에서 개최했다.
이번 합화식에는 박형준 부산시장 겸 부산시장애인체육회장을 비롯해 안성민 시의회 의장, 김석준 시교육감, 장인화 부산시체육회장 등 200여 명이 참석했다. 행사는 부산 시민들의 염원을 담아 퓨전 퍼포먼스팀 ‘인(IN)풍류’의 오프닝 공연으로 막을 열었으며, 성화 합화와 점화식, 첫 봉송 주자 인계, 어린이 치어리딩단 ‘슈팅스타’의 축하 공연, 성화 봉송 출발 순으로 진행됐다.
이번에 합화된 성화는 지난 9월 25일부터 10월 3일까지 ▲금정산 고당봉(희망의 불) ▲유엔평화공원(평화의 불) ▲가덕도 연대봉(비상의 불) ▲강화도 마니산(화합의 불) 등 네 곳에서 채화된 불씨로 구성됐다. 이날 행사에서는 네 곳에서 채화된 불이 하나로 합쳐져 ‘글로벌 허브도시 부산에서 하나되는 대한민국’을 상징하는 성화로 다시 태어났다.
성화는 각 채화지의 최종 주자들이 들고 입장한 뒤, 합화자 자격으로 나선 박형준 시장(화합의 불), 안성민 의장(평화의 불), 김석준 교육감(희망의 불), 장인화 체육회장(비상의 불)에게 전달됐다. 이들이 합화한 불꽃은 하나의 성화로 타오르며 전국체전과 장애인체전의 개막이 다가왔음을 알렸다.
합화된 성화는 이날 부산시청 앞을 출발해 연제구를 시작으로 4일간 1,200여 명의 주자와 함께 16개 구·군을 달리게 된다. 이후 시민들의 체전 성공 염원을 담아 오는 17일 아시아드주경기장에서 열리는 개막식에서 성화대에 점화될 예정이다.

성화 봉송의 첫 주자는 권중현 전 부산시체육회 부회장(1970년 방콕아시안게임 사이클 은메달리스트)이 맡아 부산 체육의 역사와 전통을 상징했다. 뒤이어 차세대 체육인을 대표해 부산의 유망주 이건호 선수와 황설후 선수가 부주자로 참여, 세대 간의 희망과 도전의 메시지를 전달했다.
박형준 시장은 “25년 만에 부산에서 열리는 이번 체전을 위해 시민 모두가 온 마음을 다해 준비했다”며 “오늘 출발한 성화가 4일 동안 16개 구·군, 1,200여 명의 주자들과 함께 달리며 체전의 성공을 기원할 것”이라고 말했다. 이어 “하나로 타오르는 성화가 국민 화합의 상징이자, 생활체육 천국도시이자 글로벌 허브도시로 도약하는 부산의 미래를 밝히는 불꽃이 되기를 바란다”고 덧붙였다.
[English Translation of the Article] Busan City Holds Flame Unification and Departure Ceremony for the 106th National Sports Festival and 45th National Para Games
Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Hyung-joon) announced that it held the Flame Unification and Departure Ceremony at the Citizen’s Plaza of City Hall at 10 a.m. on the 13th to wish for the successful hosting of the 106th National Sports Festival and the 45th National Para Games.

The ceremony brought together about 200 attendees, including Busan Mayor and Busan Para Sports Association President Park Hyung-joon, Busan Metropolitan Council Chairman Ahn Seong-min, Superintendent of Education Kim Seok-jun, and Busan Sports Council President Jang In-hwa. The event began with an opening fusion performance by the team IN Pung-Ryu, followed by the unification of the flames, lighting of the torch, delivery to the first torchbearer, a celebratory performance by the children’s cheerleading team Shooting Star, and the start of the flame relay.
The unified flame consisted of four separate fires ignited between September 25 and October 3 at ▲Godangbong Peak of Geumjeongsan Mountain (Flame of Hope), ▲UN Peace Park (Flame of Peace), ▲Yeondaebong Peak on Gadeokdo Island (Flame of Ascent), and ▲Manisan Mountain in Ganghwa (Flame of Harmony). On this day, these flames were combined into one to symbolize “a unified Republic of Korea from the Global Hub City of Busan.”
Carried in by the final torchbearers from each ignition site, the flames were handed over to the flame unifiers: Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon (Flame of Harmony), City Council Chairman Ahn Seong-min (Flame of Peace), Education Superintendent Kim Seok-jun (Flame of Hope), and Sports Council President Jang In-hwa (Flame of Ascent). Once united, the flame burned brightly, signaling the approach of the National Sports Festival and the National Para Games.
The unified flame began its journey in front of City Hall, starting from Yeonje-gu and traveling across 16 districts and counties over four days with the participation of about 1,200 torchbearers. The flame will be lit at the main cauldron during the opening ceremony of the National Sports Festival on October 17 at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium, representing the collective wishes of Busan citizens for the success of the games.
The first torchbearer to lead the relay was veteran sportsman Kwon Joong-hyun, a former vice president of the Busan Sports Council and silver medalist in cycling at the 1970 Bangkok Asian Games, symbolizing Busan’s sports legacy and tradition. He was followed by young athletes Lee Geon-ho and Hwang Seol-hu, representing the next generation, delivering a message of hope and perseverance across generations.
Mayor Park stated, “Busan citizens have poured their hearts into preparing for these games, which are being held in Busan for the first time in 25 years.” He added, “The flame, now setting off on its journey, will travel across 16 districts and counties with 1,200 torchbearers over the next four days, carrying the hopes of all citizens for the success of the event. I hope the unified flame will serve as a symbol of national harmony and illuminate Busan’s future as a city of vibrant sports and a global hub.”
