파주시가 운정5동과 운정6동 행정복지센터 건립을 위한 착공식을 열고 본격적인 공사에 돌입했다.
운정5동 행정복지센터 착공식은 10월 15일 오전 11시 동패동 1692번지에서, 운정6동 행정복지센터 착공식은 같은 날 오후 3시 동패동 512-4번지 건립 예정지에서 각각 개최됐다.

이날 행사에는 김경일 파주시장을 비롯해 박대성 파주시의회 의장, 지역 주민 등 100여 명이 참석해 새 행정복지센터 건립의 시작을 함께 축하했다.
운정5동 행정복지센터는 총사업비 262억 원을 투입해 연면적 5,621㎡, 지하 1층·지상 4층 규모로 건립된다.
1층에는 종합민원실, 2층에는 진로체험지원센터, 3층과 4층에는 주민자치공간과 다목적강당, 휴게실 등이 들어설 예정이며, 2027년 6월 준공을 목표로 하고 있다.
운정6동 행정복지센터는 총사업비 288억 원을 들여 연면적 5,377㎡, 지하 2층·지상 4층 규모로 건립된다.
1층에는 종합민원실, 2층에는 청년들의 활동 거점인 ‘청년공간’, 3층과 4층에는 주민자치공간과 다목적강당, 휴게실 등이 조성될 예정이다.
김경일 파주시장은 “행정복지센터는 파주시 행정의 실핏줄과도 같은 공간으로, 시민의 삶을 가장 가까이에서 돌보는 역할을 하게 될 것”이라며 “공정 관리를 철저히 해 시민들께 신속하고 체계적인 행정서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 운정2·4·5·6동 행정복지센터는 2023년 교하동과 운정신도시 행정구역 개편(4개 동 → 7개 동)에 따라 신설되는 시설이다.
