이번 조례는 전동보장구 이용자가 늘어나면서 증가하는 사고를 예방하고, 보다 안전한 이동 환경을 만들기 위해 제정됐다.
조례안에는 △전동보장구 안전사고 예방 및 이용환경 개선 사업 추진 △사고 발생 시 경제적 부담 완화를 위한 보험 지원 근거 마련 등이 담겨 있다.
하 의원은 “이번 조례를 통해 장애인들이 전동보장구를 안전하고 자유롭게 이용할 수 있는 환경이 마련될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 이동권 향상을 위한 실질적 정책이 꾸준히 추진되도록 관심과 지원을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
오는 23일 제2차 본회의에서 최종 의결될 예정이다.
