목포문화재단 후원으로 진행된 석연경 시인의 노벨문학상 수상 작품 산책 수업이 지난 5월부터 10월까지 매주 월요일 총 20회에 걸쳐 목포문화원에서 열렸다. 이를 기념하는 수강 회원들의 소박한 시화전이 ‘노벨문학상 날개 위에서 시금(詩琴)을 타다’라는 제목으로 목포문화원에서 개최된다.
그간 석연경 시인은 수강생들이 문학적 재능을 꽃피울 수 있도록 도왔다. 작품을 심층 분석하여 수강들에게 감상 방법 지도 뿐만 아니라, 작품과 관련된 음악과 미술 감상도 곁들이는 등 풍성한 수업으로 이뤄졌다. 세계적인 작가와 작품을 이해할 수 있었던 의미 있는 강좌로 평가된다.
해당 강좌는 라빈드라나트 타고르, 윌리엄 버틀러 예이츠, 루이즈 글릭, 헤르만 헤세, 알베르 카뮈, 앙리 베그르송, 파블로 네루다, 가브리엘 가르시아 마르케스, 옥타비오 파스, 사뮈엘 베케트, 한강, 밥 딜런 등이 심도 깊게 소개됐으며, 수업 내용을 바탕으로 시 창작 방법론 강의도 있었다.
석연경 시인은 "노벨문학상 수상 작품은 인류 전체의 희노애락을 공유하고 인류 보편의 감동과 울림을 주는 작품"이라고 소개하며 "문학적 완성도가 높은 작품을 통해 세계의 흐름을 알 수 있다"고 피력했다.
이어 "노벨문학상 수상 작품은 인류 보편에게 나는 누구인가, 어떻게 살 것인가에 대한 화두를 던지고 인간이 인간으로 더불어 잘 살아가는 방법을 함께 성찰할 수 있다"고 밝혔다.
시화전 개막식은 10월 27일 오후 2시에 목포문화원에서 개최된다. 개막식 때는 회원들의 시낭송회 및 연주회가 열린다. 전시 기간은 2025년 10월 27일(월)~31일(금)까지다. 문의는 목포문화원으로 하면 된다.
한편 시인이자 문학평론가인 석연경 시인은 전국의 문학관과 도서관, 학교 및 대학 강단에서 인문학 강연과 문예 창작 및 대학 국어 지도를 이어왔다. 박경리문학관, 목포문화원, 광주시민대학, 순천대학교, 순천시립도서관, 여수도서관, 대흥사 등 여러 공간에서 독자와 청중을 만나왔으며, 연경인문문화예술연구소를 운영하며 시창작 아카데미 및 다양한 인문학 강연과 예술 융합 프로그램을 운영하고 있고 있다.
시집으로는 『독수리의 날들』, 『섬광, 쇄빙선』, 『푸른 벽을 세우다』, 『탕탕』, 『정원의 우주』가 있고 순천사찰시사진집 『둥근 거울』, 시평론집 『생태시학의 변주』, 정원 시선집 『우주의 정원』, 힐링잠언시사진집 『숲길』, 시사진산문집 『시와 함께하는 순천정원문화』가 있다. 송수권시문학상 젊은시인상을 수상하였다.

- Playing the Poetry Harp on the Wings of the Nobel Prize in Literature
Sponsored by the Mokpo Cultural Foundation, poet Seok Yeon-kyung's Nobel Prize-winning works were explored in a series of 20 classes held every Monday from May to October at the Mokpo Cultural Center. To commemorate the event, a simple poetry and art exhibition titled "Playing the Poetry Harp on the Wings of the Nobel Prize in Literature" will be held at the Mokpo Cultural Center.
Poet Seok Yeon-kyung has been helping students develop their literary talents. She not only guided students through in-depth analysis of the works and guided them in their appreciation, but also provided enriching lessons, including music and art appreciation related to the works. The classes are considered to be a valuable opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the world-renowned author and his works.
The course featured in-depth introductions to Rabindranath Tagore, William Butler Yeats, Louise Glick, Hermann Hesse, Albert Camus, Henri Begrçon, Pablo Neruda, Gabriel García Márquez, Octavio Paz, Samuel Beckett, Han Kang, and Bob Dylan. The lecture also included a lecture on poetry writing methodology based on the course content.
Poet Seok Yeon-kyung introduced the Nobel Prize in Literature as a work that shares the joys and sorrows of all humanity and resonates with universal human emotion. She stated, "Through works of high literary perfection, we can understand the flow of the world."
She continued, "The Nobel Prize in Literature works pose universal questions to humanity about who we are and how we should live, and they allow us to reflect on how we can live well together as human beings."
The opening ceremony of the poetry exhibition will be held at the Mokpo Cultural Center on October 27th at 2:00 PM. The opening ceremony will feature poetry readings and concerts by members. Meanwhile, poet and literary critic Seok Yeon-gyeong has lectured on humanities and taught creative writing and Korean language at literary museums, libraries, schools, and universities across the country. She has engaged with readers and audiences at venues such as the Park Kyung-ni Literature Museum, Mokpo Cultural Center, Gwangju Citizens' University, Suncheon National University, Suncheon City Library, Yeosu Library, and Daeheungsa Temple. She also runs the Yeongyeong Humanities, Culture, and Arts Research Institute, where she runs a poetry writing academy and various humanities lectures and arts convergence programs.
His poetry collections include "Days of the Eagle," "Flash, Icebreaker," "Building a Blue Wall," "Tangtang," and "The Universe of the Garden." He also published a collection of poetry and photography from the Suncheon Temple, "Round Mirror," a collection of poetry critiques, "Variations in Ecological Poetry," a collection of garden poems, "The Garden of the Universe," a collection of healing proverbs and photography, "Forest Path," and a collection of poetry and photography prose, "Suncheon Garden Culture with Poetry." He received the Song Su-kwon Poetry Award for Young Poets.
