경기도의회 여성가족평생교육위원회 문형근 위원장(더불어민주당, 안양3)이 지난 10월 23일 도의회 회의실에서 ‘청년친화도시 선정 및 경기도미래세대재단 이전 관련 정책정담회’를 열고, 청년정책 추진 현황과 재단 이전 과제를 논의했다.
정담회에는 김재훈 의원(국민의힘 안양4), 장민수 의원(더불어민주당, 비례), 경기도 청년기회과 관계자 등이 참석해 청년이 지역에서 자립하고 성장할 수 있는 ‘청년친화도시’ 지정 추진 상황과 경기도미래세대재단의 안정적 이전 및 발전 방향을 집중 논의했다.
문형근 위원장은 “청년친화도시 지정은 국비 확보를 넘어 청년이 지역에 머물며 미래를 설계할 수 있는 기반을 만드는 일”이라며 “청년이 체감할 수 있는 일자리·주거·문화 지원이 필요하다”고 강조했다.

김재훈 의원은 “청년정책은 도정의 핵심 축으로 자리 잡아야 하며, 청년친화도시가 경기도 정책의 모델로 성장하도록 지원하겠다”고 밝혔고, 장민수 의원은 “청년이 지역의 미래 경쟁력”이라며 “청년친화도시 정책이 지방소멸을 막는 해법이 돼야 한다”고 말했다.
참석자들은 이어서 현재 수원시 옛 도청사에 위치한 ‘경기도미래세대재단’의 이전 필요성과 기능 강화 방안도 논의했다. 문 위원장은 “이전은 단순한 물리적 이동이 아니라 기능과 역할의 혁신이 돼야 한다”고 강조했으며, 의원들은 교통 접근성과 청년 밀집도를 고려한 이전지 검토를 제안했다.
김선화 청년기회과장은 “내년도 연구용역을 통해 접근성·연계성 등 정책적 의견을 반영하겠다”고 밝혔다.
문형근 위원장은 “청년친화도시와 미래세대재단 모두 청년의 삶의 질 향상이 목표”라며 “도의회가 실효성 있는 청년정책 추진을 지속 점검하겠다”고 말했다.
