정영수 서구의회 의장과 서구의회 의원 전원, 대구시교육청과 서구청 관계자 등 120여 명이 참석했으며, 90분 동안 △특수학생 실무 인력 부족 △통학로 안전 확보를 위한 CCTV 및 과속단속카메라 설치 확대 △노후 정보화기기 교체 등 다양한 현안에 대한 논의가 이어졌다.
특히 비봉초등학교 통폐합 이후 후적지 활용 방안이 주요 의제로 다뤄졌다. 참석자들은 해당 부지 활용을 통해 지역 교육환경을 개선하고 지역사회 발전과 연계할 수 있는 방안에 대해 각별한 관심을 보였다.
이재화 의원은 “이번 간담회를 통해 학교 현장의 현실과 요구를 좀 더 명확히 파악할 수 있었다”며 “오늘 제기된 건의사항에 대해 관계 기관들과 긴밀히 협의해 실질적인 개선이 이뤄지도록 적극 검토하겠다”고 밝혔다.
