(재)고양산업진흥원은 지난 5일 (사)초기투자액셀러레이터협회(협회장 전화성)와 ‘고양시 기업 육성 및 투자 생태계 활성화를 위한 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결했다.

이번 협약은 양 기관이 보유한 창업지원 인프라와 투자 네트워크를 연계해 스타트업의 성장기반을 마련하고, 지역 유망기업의 성장을 촉진하기 위해 추진됐다.
초기투자액셀러레이터협회는 국내 창업기획자(AC) 및 초기투자기관 간의 협력과 성장을 촉진하기 위해 설립된 기관으로, 전국 270여 개 회원사가 참여하고 있다.
협회는 투자 및 보육 역량 강화, 제도 개선, 정책 제안 등 다양한 활동을 펼치고 있다.
양 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 스타트업 공동 발굴 및 협회 회원사 연계 지원, 보육·투자 프로그램 공동 기획 및 추천 협력, 스타트업 대상 지원사업 연계, 정책 제안 및 제도 개선 등 다양한 분야에서 긴밀히 협력해 나갈 계획이다.
한편, 고양시는 서울과 인접한 수도권 핵심 거점 도시로, 방송영상밸리, 일산테크노밸리, K-컬처밸리 등이 조성되고 있으며, 킨텍스를 비롯한 첨단산업과 문화콘텐츠 인프라가 밀집해 있어 창업과 기업 성장이 공존할 수 있는 최적의 환경을 갖추고 있다.
또한 우수한 교통 접근성과 인재 유입 여건, 청년창업·기술창업·글로벌 진출 등 성장 단계별 맞춤형 지원정책이 체계적으로 추진되고 있어 ‘창업하기 좋은 도시’로 주목받고 있다.
고양산업진흥원은 이러한 지역적 강점을 바탕으로 지난 9월 중소벤처기업부로부터 ‘창업기획자(액셀러레이터)’로 등록 승인을 받아, 경기도 기초지자체 산하기관 중 최초로 발굴–보육–투자–스케일업을 아우르는 공공형 창업지원체계를 구축했으며 이를 통해 고양시는 지역 창업기업이 타 지역으로 이전하지 않고도 안정적으로 성장할 수 있는 기반을 마련했다.
한동균 원장은 “이번 협약은 고양시 창업기업의 성장과 투자유치를 촉진하는 실질적인 협력 모델이 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 민간 전문기관과의 협업을 지속 확대해 고양시가 수도권을 대표하는 혁신 창업도시로 자리매김할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.
