민주평화통일자문회의 고양특례시협의회가 15일 오후 베네치아웨딩홀 대연회장에서 제22기 출범식 및 2025년 3차 정기회의를 성대하게 개최했다.
이날 출범식에는 김성주 협의회장을 비롯해 이동환 고양특례시장, 김운남 고양시의회의장, 김성회 국회의원, 자문위원, 내빈 등 약 250여 명이 참석해 새 출발을 축하했다.

지난 1일부터 임기가 시작된 제22기 민주평통은 2027년 10월 31일까지 2년간 평화 공존과 번영의 한반도 구현을 위한 활동에 나서게 된다.
주요 역할로는 평화통일 의견수렴 및 정책건의, 평화·통일 기반 조성 등이 있다.
김성주 협의회장은 개회사를 통해 "고양시민과 함께 평화와 통일의 길을 모색하고, 민주평통이 지향하는 공감·소통의 역할을 충실히 수행하는 협의회를 만들겠다"고 강조하며 시민 중심의 활동 방향을 천명했다.

출범식은 개회식을 시작으로 위촉장 전수, 자문위원 선서, 제22기 활동방향 보고, 협의회 운영 및 주요 사업계획 관련 의견수렴 순으로 진행됐다.
자문위원들은 위촉장 전수와 선서를 통해 대통령 직속 자문기관의 위원으로서 책임감 있는 활동을 다짐했다.
제22기 고양특례시협의회는 앞으로 '시민과 함께하는 통일공감 확산 사업', '청소년 평화·통일 교육 프로그램', '지역사회와 연계한 평화·통일 문화 조성사업' 등 다양한 사업을 추진할 계획이다.
