【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시 ‘2025 체육인 한마음 체육대회’가 지난 15일 포항 만인당 옆 잔디구장에서 29개 읍면동 체육회원 등 1,500여 명이 참여한 가운데 성황리에 개최됐다.
이번 대회는 생활체육 저변 확대와 지역 체육인 간의 유대 강화를 목표로 마련된 자리로, 다양한 연령대의 시민과 동호인들이 함께 어울리며 화합을 다지는 뜻깊은 시간이 됐다.
포항시에 따르면 이날 행사에는 이강덕 포항시장, 김일만 포항시의회 의장, 김정재 국회의원, 시·도의원 등 주요 인사들이 참석해 참가자들을 격려하며 지역 체육 발전 의지를 함께했다.
개막은 지역 풍물패의 난타공연으로 활기차게 시작됐으며, 이어 올 한 해 지역 체육 발전에 기여한 유공자들에게 표창패가 수여돼 현장의 박수를 받았다.
또한 남·북구 대표팀이 펼친 계주 달리기와 풍선열차게임 등 명랑운동회가 큰 호응을 얻었고, 읍면동별 노래자랑 무대는 축제 분위기를 한층 뜨겁게 달궜다. 특히 가수 풍금이의 축하공연이 이어지며 분위기는 절정에 달했다.
이동율 포항시체육회 읍면동체육회장은 “체육은 공동체를 단단하게 만드는 힘”이라며 “오늘 현장에서 느낀 열정이 지역 체육 발전의 토대가 될 것”이라고 말했다.
이강덕 포항시장은 “체육인 여러분들이 보여주신 활기와 에너지가 곧 포항시 체육 발전의 원동력”이라며 “시민 누구나 일상에서 쉽게 체육을 즐길 수 있는 환경을 구축하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”라고 말했다.
한편 포항시 체육인 한마음 체육대회는 지역 공동체의 유대감 강화와 건강한 체육활동 조성을 위해 매년 개최되고 있으며, 앞으로도 다양한 생활체육 프로그램으로 시민 참여를 확대해 나갈 계획이다.
