내가 살고 있는 몰타의 포르토마소는 가장 편리하고 품격 있는 단지다.
하지만 이런 곳일수록 관리비가 따르고, 늘 철저한 점검이 필요하다.
집이든 사람이든, 관리해야 오래도록 좋은 상태를 유지할 수 있다는 점은 같다.
특히 랩톱은 3년을 넘기지 못하고 문제가 생기는 경우가 많다.
나의 컴퓨터는 일본어와 영어만 기본으로 설정되어 있어서
한국어는 자판을 외워 입력하고 있다. 한국인은 잘 모를 것이다.
그런데 며칠 전부터 몇몇 숫자와 글자가 입력되지 않아 수리 센터를 찾았다.
결국 키보드를 전부 교체해야 한다고 해서
일본산 부품이라 주문도 오래 걸린다고 해서 영국에서 오더를 넣고 기다리는 중이다.
가장 중요한 컴퓨터가 고장 나면 모든 일이 엉망이 되기에
임시로 키보드를 빌려 사용하고 있다. 주문한 새 키보드는 2주 뒤에나 도착할 예정이다.
정말 편리해질수록 오히려 불편함이 더 늘어나는 시대입니다.
편리는 커지는데, 그만큼 감당해야 할 불편함도 함께 커지는 시대.

so I type Korean by memory. But a few days ago,
several numbers and letters stopped responding, so I took it to a repair center.
In the end, they told me the entire keyboard needs to be replaced.
Since it’s a Japanese model, ordering parts takes time,
and the replacement has to be shipped from the UK.
When the most essential device breaks, everything becomes chaotic,
So I’m currently using a borrowed keyboard.
The new one I ordered will take about two weeks to arrive.
Convenience always seems to come with its own inconveniences
We live in an age where the more convenient things become,
the more inconveniences seem to arise.
Convenience grows, but so do the burdens that come with it.

韓国語はキーボード配列を覚えて打っています。
ところが数日前からいくつかの数字や文字が反応しなくなり、
修理センターへ持っていきました。
結局、キーボード全体の交換が必要と言われました。
日本製のモデルなので、部品の注文に時間がかかり、
イギリスから取り寄せる必要があるそうです。
一番大事なパソコンが壊れると、すべてが滞ってしまうため、
今は予備のキーボードを借りて使っています。
注文したキーボードは到着まで2週間かかる予定です。
便利さの裏には、いつもこうした不便がつきものですね。
本当に便利になればなるほど、かえって不便さが増える時代です。
便利さが大きくなるほど、それに伴う不便もまた大きくなるものですね。
