【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군 한국생활개선 진천군연합회는 (재)진천군장학회(이사장 송기섭)에 지역인재 육성을 위한 장학금 300만원을 기탁했다고 8일 밝혔다.
한국생활개선 진천군연합회는 7개 읍·면 생활개선회와 다양한 연구분과와 동아리로 구성된 단체다.
해당 단체는 지역사회 환원에 꾸준한 관심을 보여오며, 2017년부터 현재까지 총 1천여만원을 지역 학생들을 위한 장학금으로 전달하는 등 지역인재 육성에 앞장서 왔다.
이경자 회장은 “농촌 지역 학생들이 경제적 어려움 없이 공부할 수 있는 환경을 만들고 싶다”며 “회원들의 정성을 모아 마련한 이번 장학금이 미래의 인재들에게 희망의 씨앗이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
송기섭 이사장은 “지역 학생들을 위해 큰마음을 내어주신 한국생활개선 진천군연합회에 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “기탁해 주신 장학금은 관내 학생들을 위해 꼭 필요한 곳에 잘 사용하겠다”고 말했다.
