이날 총회에는 구현모 의정부시 약사회장을 비롯해 경기도 약사회 관계자, 관내 의약품 도매업체 대표, 약사회 회원 등 50여 명이 참석했다. 행사는 개회 선언을 시작으로 약사윤리강령 낭독, 주요 업무보고 및 새해 예산안 심의 순으로 진행됐으며, 지난 한 해 동안 조직 발전에 기여한 유공 회원들에 대한 시상식도 함께 열렸다.
의정부시 약사회는 1964년 설립된 이래 지역 약사들의 권익 증진과 전문성 강화를 위해 힘써왔다. 특히 최근에는 저소득층 학생 지원, 학대 피해 아동 물품 후원, 어린이 구충제 기부 등 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 펼치며 단순한 의약품 조제를 넘어 지역사회 복지 사각지대 해소에 기여해 큰 호평을 받고 있다.
