【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 북구청이 2026년 국가유산 보수정비사업 예산 12억 3,200만 원을 확보하면서, 구암동 고분군과 팔거산성에 대한 체계적인 발굴 조사와 정비·복원 작업에 속도가 붙게 됐다.
북구청에 따르면, 이번에 확보한 예산은 국가지정유산인 구암동 고분군과 팔거산성에 투입된다. 구암동 고분군에는 2억 1,200만 원이 투입돼 토지 매입과 탐방로 정비, 고분군 예초 사업 등이 추진된다. 이를 통해 보존 구역 안정화와 함께 관람객의 안전, 접근성까지 강화할 계획이다.
팔거산성에는 10억 2,000만 원이 사용될 예정이다. 올해 진행되는 네 번째 정밀 발굴 조사에서는 기존 세 차례의 조사에서 밝혀지지 않았던 산성의 전체 축조 양상과 구조를 규명하는 데 초점이 맞춰진다. 발굴 과정에서는 필요한 민묘 이장 절차도 함께 진행된다. 북구청은 지난해 수립한 종합정비계획에 따라 산성의 축조 양상에 맞춘 단계적 복원과 정비를 추진할 방침이다.
북구청은 이번 사업을 통해 학술적 성과와 함께 유산의 보존·활용을 도모할 계획이다. 팔거산성의 축조 방식과 구조가 구체적으로 밝혀지면, 이는 지역 고대사 연구의 중요한 기초 자료로 활용될 전망이다. 또 구암동 고분군의 토지 매입과 탐방로 정비가 완료되면 유적 훼손을 최소화하면서도 주민과 시민이 안전하게 국가유산을 향유할 수 있는 환경이 마련될 것으로 예상된다.
배광식 북구청장은 “이번 예산 확보를 통해 국가유산의 체계적인 보존을 넘어, 발굴 조사와 복원 정비 전 과정을 주민들과 공유하겠다”며 “주민들이 국가유산을 피부로 체감할 수 있는 계기를 만들어가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Buk-gu Mayor Bae Gwang-sik stated, "With this funding, we will not only systematically preserve our national heritage, but also share the entire process from excavation and restoration with residents. We will create opportunities for residents to experience our national heritage firsthand."
