기후부는 대한환경공학회, 대한상하수도학회, 한국물환경학회와 공동으로 23일 오전 10시부터 정오까지 국회 의원회관 제1세미나실에서 ‘낙동강 먹는 물 문제 해결을 위한 전략토론회’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
이번 토론회는 낙동강 물 문제 해결을 위한 정책 수립 과정에서 전문가 집단의 과학적이고 실효적인 판단과 지역사회의 다양한 의견을 종합적으로 논의하기 위해 마련됐다.
행사에는 기후부 장관을 비롯해 김상훈·유영하·우재준 국회의원, 대구광역시장 권한대행, 대한환경공학회장, 대한상하수도학회장, 한국물환경학회장 등 관계자들이 참석할 예정이다.
토론회는 개회식과 인사말을 시작으로, 국회의원들과 대구시장 권한대행의 축사가 이어진다. 이후 ▲‘낙동강 맑은 물 공급 사업 경과 및 정책 방향’ ▲‘안전한 먹는 물 확보를 위한 기술 동향’을 주제로 한 발제가 진행된다.
이어 기후부 물이용정책관을 비롯해 학계 전문가, 지역 전문가, 정부 관계자 등이 참여하는 패널 토론이 열려 낙동강 유역의 먹는 물 문제와 개선 방안에 대해 심도 있는 논의가 이뤄질 예정이다. 자유토론과 질의응답을 통해 참석자들의 다양한 의견도 공유된다.
패널 토론에는 대한환경공학회장, 대한상하수도학회장, 한국물환경학회장 등 학계 인사 5명과 경북대 교수 등 지역 전문가, 대구시 소관 부서장, 낙동강유역위원회 정책분과장 등이 참여한다.
기후부 관계자는 “이번 토론회를 통해 과학적 근거와 현장 의견을 바탕으로 낙동강 먹는 물 문제 해결을 위한 실질적인 정책 방향을 모색할 것”이라며 “안전하고 지속 가능한 물 공급 체계 구축을 위해 사회적 공감대를 넓혀 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

An expert forum to discuss strategies for resolving the Nakdong River drinking water issue will be held at the National Assembly on January 23rd.

The panel discussion will feature five academic figures, including the President of the Korean Society of Environmental Engineers, the President of the Korean Society of Water and Wastewater Engineering, and the President of the Korean Society of Water Environment. Participants will also include regional experts, including a professor at Kyungpook National University, department heads from the Daegu City government, and the head of the policy division of the Nakdong River Basin Committee.
A Ministry of Climate Change official stated, "Through this discussion, we will explore practical policy directions to address the Nakdong River drinking water issues based on scientific evidence and field feedback. We will work to broaden social consensus to establish a safe and sustainable water supply system."
