<브레이크뉴스 의정부=이용하 기자> 의정부시가 민생 현장 소통의 일환으로 택시운수종사자들의 생생한 목소리를 직접 듣고 열악한 근무 여건 개선을 위한 대책 마련에 나섰다.
의정부시는 지난 21일 의정부시 개인택시조합을 방문해 택시운수종사자들과 정책간담회를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 이번 간담회는 시민들의 이동권을 책임지고 있는 택시 업계가 겪는 실질적인 어려움을 파악하고 지원 방안을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 간담회에 참석한 개인택시조합 관계자들은 운수종사자 쉼터 시설 개선, 택시 승강장 확충 및 정비, 택시 업계 재정 지원 확대 등 현장에서 체감하는 시급한 건의사항들을 전달했다.

의정부시는 제안된 내용 중 즉시 시행 가능한 사안은 관련 부서를 통해 신속히 조치하고, 예산 확보 등 중·장기 검토가 필요한 사안은 별도의 계획을 수립해 개선 방안을 모색할 계획이다.
특히 시는 수렴된 의견을 바탕으로 택시 정책의 우선순위를 재정비하고, 운수종사자의 복지 증진이 시민들에 대한 서비스 향상으로 이어질 수 있도록 안정적인 운영 지원 방안을 지속적으로 검토할 방침이다.
김동근 의정부시장은 “고물가와 경기 침체 등 어려운 여건 속에서도 시민의 발이 되어주는 택시운수종사자들의 역할이 매우 중요하다”며 “근무 환경 개선은 곧 시민들의 안전과 서비스 품질로 연결되는 만큼 현장의 의견을 시정에 적극 반영하겠다”고 말했다.
