청양소방서가 겨울철 화재 취약 시기를 맞아 전통시장 화재 예방 및 안전사고 방지를 위해 의용소방대 전통시장 야간순찰을 운영 중이라고 23일 밝혔다.
이번 순찰은 2026년 1월 1일부터 2월 28일까지 두 달간 진행된다.
이번 야간순찰은 관내 청양전통시장과 정산시장 등 2개소를 대상으로 실시된다. 청양읍 남·여 의용소방대와 정산면 남·여 의용소방대 등 총 4개 대에서 119명의 대원이 참여한다.
순찰은 매일 취약 시간대인 오후 9시부터 11시까지 2시간 동안 이어진다. 하루에 4명(남성대원 2명, 여성대원 2명)이 한 조를 이뤄 시장 내·외부를 집중 점검한다.
주요 활동 내용은 전통시장 내 화재 위험 요인 사전 제거, 소화기 및 소방시설 점검, 전기·가스 안전 확인 등 화재 예방 및 안전관리 강화에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 의용소방대는 화재 예방 교육과 독거노인 돌봄 활동도 병행하며 지역사회 안전을 위해 노력하고 있다.
