[브레이크뉴스=강동호 기자] 합천지역 대표 브랜드인 합천황토한우의 우수성을 알리고, 지역 한우산업 경쟁력 강화를 기원하고자 ‘합천황토한우 초매식’이 29일 합천축협 스마트한우경매시장에서 열렸다.

이번 초매식은 김윤철 합천군수, 정봉훈 합천군의장과 합천군의회 의원, 김용욱 합천축협 조합장, 김종배 전국한우협회합천군지부장과 한우 사육농가 등 약 100여 명이 참석해 행사의 의미를 더했다.

합천황토한우는 1999년 특허청 브랜드로 등록되어 합천군과 합천축협이 함께 운영하고 있는 한우 브랜드로, 16개월 이상 자체 사양관리 프로그램에 따라 합천축협이 생산하는 황토가 첨가된 전용 사료를 급여한 한우만을 출하하고 있으며, 부드러운 육질과 뛰어난 향미가 일품이다.

이번 초매식 개최지인 합천축협 스마트한우경매시장은 2021년 실시간 스마트 경매시스템을 도입하여 연간 9천두 이상의 한우를 경매하는 대규모 경매시장으로 매주 첫째주 목요일에는 큰소 경매를, 둘째 넷째주 목요일에는 송아지 경매를 실시하고 있으며, 이날 초매식에는 송아지 274마리가 출품되며 성황리에 진행됐다.
