대전경찰청과 대전자치경찰위원회는 2026년 설 명절을 맞아 전통시장 활성화와 이용객 편의를 강화하기 위해 특별히 주차 허용 범위를 확대한다고 30일 밝혔다.
대전경찰청은 이 기간 동안 기존에 연중 주차가 허용되는 8개 시장 외에도, 인동시장, 가수원시장, 법동시장, 신탄진5일장, 노은시장, 유성시장, 송강시장 등 7개 전통시장 주변 도로에서 2월 2일부터 18일까지 17일간 최대 2시간까지 한시적으로 주차가 가능하도록 조치했다.
이번 확대 조치는 대전경찰청과 시·구청, 시장 상인회의 의견을 종합 검토해 도로 여건과 교통 흐름을 고려하여 시행된다.
허용 시간은 오전 9시부터 오후 6시, 그리고 밤 8시부터 10시까지이며, 해당 시간 내에는 주차 단속이 일시 유예된다. 이를 통해 설 연휴 기간 동안 전통시장 방문객들의 주차 불편을 크게 해소할 것으로 기대된다.
하지만 경찰은 관내 주요 도로 교통 소통에 영향을 주는 2열 주차, 소방시설 주변 불법 주차, 허용 구간 외 주차 및 2시간 이상 장기 주차 차량 등에 대해서는 집중 단속을 진행할 방침이다.
