대전시교육청이 2026학년도 국제 바칼로레아(IB) 프로그램의 안정적인 운영과 학교 역량 강화를 위해 단계별 맞춤형 지원체계를 본격 가동했다. 후보학교 승인 준비학교와 신규 관심학교를 대상으로 한 실질적 지원 프로그램을 연초부터 추진하면서, IB 교육의 정착 기반을 다지는 모습이다.
교육청은 겨울방학 기간 중 변동중, 서대전고, 서일고 등 2026학년도 후보학교 신청 예정 교원을 대상으로 온라인 워크숍을 열었다.
이번 워크숍은 학교 현장이 IB 본부의 공식 인증을 준비하는 과정에서 겪는 행정적 부담을 줄이고, 신청 절차를 명확히 안내하기 위한 취지로 마련됐다.
워크숍에는 IB 한국사업개발부의 홍정아, 미셸 강 매니저가 강사로 참여해 후보학교 신청 절차, 필수 서류 구비 요령, 승인 준비 과정에서의 유의사항 등을 상세히 설명했다.
참가 교원들은 실무형 질의응답을 통해 학교별 준비 상황에 맞는 맞춤 지원을 받으며 IB 도입 과정의 구체적 이해도를 높였다.
대전시교육청은 또 대전노은초등학교를 대상으로 한 IB 프로그램 내실화 컨설팅을 진행하며 학교 중심 운영 역량 강화에도 나섰다.
이번 컨설팅은 신규 관심학교의 IB 이해도를 높이고 교원의 탐구 중심 수업 설계 역량을 향상시키는 데 초점을 두었다.
특히 전북특별자치도 영만초등학교의 윤보라 교사가 강사로 참여해, 탐구 단원 설계와 실제 운영 사례를 중심으로 학교 맞춤형 피드백을 제공했다.
참여 교원들은 IB 수업의 실천적 접근 방법과 장기적 운영 전략에 대한 구체적 조언을 받았다.
대전시교육청 관계자는 “이번 지원은 IB 공식 인증 절차부터 수업 개선에 이르는 전 과정을 학교별 수준에 맞게 단계적으로 돕기 위한 것”이라며 “향후에도 교원 역량 강화와 학교 현장 중심의 지속 가능한 IB 운영을 위해 지원을 지속 확대하겠다”고 밝혔다.
