성광진 대전교육감 예비후보가 학생의 생명과 안전을 교육행정의 최우선 가치로 내걸고, 학교 안전사고부터 폭력, 정신건강, 중독 문제까지 아우르는 ‘학교 안전 강화 정책’을 공식 발표했다.
성 예비후보는 5일 기자회견을 통해 기존의 사후 처리 방식에서 벗어나 ‘사전 예방’과 ‘완전한 회복’에 방점을 둔 종합 대책을 공개했다.
그는 “학교 안전은 일시적인 임시방편이 아니라 365일 상시 작동하는 시스템이 되어야 한다”며 대전 교육의 안전 기준을 전면 재정립하겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.
우선 학교 내외부의 물리적 안전을 대폭 강화한다. 외부인 출입 관리를 엄격히 하는 동시에 ‘학교시설 안전점검 지원단’을 꾸려 전문적인 상시 점검 체계를 가동할 계획이다.
