충남 논산에 위치한 국방대학교(총장 직무대행 김영호)가 오는 2월 9일 오후 2시, 본교 세종대강당에서 ‘2026년 안보과정 입교식’을 개최한다. 이번 행사는 신입생과 교직원 등 300여 명이 참석한 가운데 진행될 예정이다.
올해 안보과정에는 육·해·공군 및 해병대 대령급 장교 79명을 비롯해 중앙행정기관 국·과장급 공무원 83명, 공공기관 임원 64명 등 각계 지도급 인사들이 입교한다.
더불어 파키스탄 사자드(Akhtar Sajjad) 육군 준장을 포함한 13개국 13명의 외국군 장교가 수탁생 자격으로 참여해, 국제적 안보 교류의 장을 함께 열 예정이다.
국방대학교 안보과정은 약 43주 동안 진행되며 국가안전보장이론 ,국제·국내 안보정세 분석 ,북한·통일정책 연구 ,국방·군사전략 ,국가미래전략 ,국가안보종합연습 등 고급 안보·정책 분야의 심화 교육으로 구성된다.
교육 과정에는 국방대 교수진뿐 아니라 중앙부처 장관, 군 주요직위자, 안보 전문 연구자 등 국내외 최고 전문가들이 참여해 강의와 토론을 병행한다.
1955년 창설 이후 국방대학교 안보과정은 약 1만 명이 넘는 졸업생을 배출했으며, 이들은 정부 부처와 군, 공공기관 등에서 국가안보 및 정책 수립의 핵심 인력으로 활약하고 있다.
