대전 중구가 설 연휴를 앞두고 환경오염사고 예방을 위한 특별감시에 나선다.
중구는 오는 9일부터 24일까지 ‘환경오염행위 특별감시 기간’으로 정하고, 지역 내 폐수배출업소를 중심으로 집중 점검과 단속을 실시한다고 8일 밝혔다.
이번 대책은 설 연휴 기간 동안 관리 부주의로 인한 폐수 방류나 오염물질 유출 등 환경사고를 사전에 차단하기 위한 조치다. 중구는 기간을 3단계로 구분해 맞춤형 감시체계를 운영한다.
연휴 전(9~13일)에는 하천 주변 배출업소를 대상으로 자율점검 협조를 요청하고, 특별 순찰을 통해 하천 오염을 예방한다. 연휴 기간(14~18일)에는 주요 하천과 사고 우려 지역 중심으로 순찰을 강화하며, 상황실과 쓰레기 수거대책반을 함께 운영해 비상 대응체계를 유지한다.
연휴가 끝난 후(19~24일)에는 환경관리 취약업소를 대상으로 기술지원을 실시하고 배출시설의 정상 가동 여부를 확인하는 행정지도를 이어갈 예정이다.
김제선 중구청장은 “특별감시 기간 중 위법행위가 적발되면 관련 법령에 따라 엄정 조치하겠다”며 “환경오염을 목격한 시민은 즉시 신고해 달라”고 당부했다.
중구는 이번 감시활동을 통해 설 연휴 기간 빈틈없는 환경관리를 추진하고, 지역 하천과 생활환경 보호에 만전을 기한다는 방침이다.
