더불어민주당 김미화 전 천안시의원이 9일 천안시장 출마를 공식 선언하고 “시민의 삶이 기준이 되는 시정”을 실현하겠다고 밝혔다.
현 더불어민주당 부대변인으로 활동하고 있는 김 전 의원은 이날 천안에서 가진 출마 기자회견에서 “이제 천안은 규모의 성장보다 시민 삶의 질로 평가받아야 한다”며 “행정의 편의가 아닌 시민의 하루를 기준으로 작동하는 시정을 만들겠다”고 강조했다.
그는 이재명 정부가 내세운 ‘민생 중심, 실용 행정’ 기조를 천안시정에서 구체화하겠다고 밝히며 원도심 재생 ,상생형 지역경제 ,AI 기반 시민행정 ,인재 성장도시 조성 등 네 가지 핵심 비전을 제시했다.
김 전 의원은 먼저 침체된 천안 원도심에 행정과 문화 기능을 집중해 도시의 중심 기능을 회복하겠다는 구상을 내놨다.
그는 “문성동 일대에 새로운 시청을 건립하고 행정 중심축을 원도심으로 이동시키겠다”며 “기존 시청 부지는 공연과 전시, 콘텐츠가 결합된 ‘천안 예술의 전당’으로 조성하겠다”고 말했다.
또 천안역 외벽에는 대형 미디어 LED 스크린을 설치해 도시의 새로운 상징으로 만들고, 원도심 재생 재원을 조성하는 선순환 구조를 구축하겠다고 설명했다.
