이번 방문은 어썸션 일로일로 고교의 해외 연수 교육 프로그램(STEP)의 일환으로, 학생과 인솔 교사들이 한국의 대학 교육 환경을 직접 체험하기 위해 마련됐다.
일정은 박순진 총장과 필리핀 방문단 교사 간 환영 접견으로 시작됐다. 박 총장은 양국 간 교육 교류 확대와 협력의 중요성을 강조하며 방문단을 환영했다.
이어 진행된 대학 소개 시간에서는 대구대의 국제화 역량이 집중 조명됐다. 특히 3월부터 국제대학에서 전 과정을 영어로 운영하는 영어 트랙 학위과정이 소개돼 현지 학생들의 높은 관심을 끌었다. 외국인 학생을 위한 단기 한국문화 체험 프로그램에 대한 안내도 함께 이뤄졌다.
설명회 이후 방문단은 창파도서관 등 교내 주요 시설을 견학하며 교육 환경을 살폈다. 학생들은 조선 왕실 의복을 직접 착용해보는 체험 프로그램에 참여하는 등 한국 문화를 이해하는 시간을 가졌다.
박순진 대구대학교 총장은 “필리핀의 우수 학생들이 한국의 교육과 문화를 직접 경험하는 뜻깊은 자리였다”며 “앞으로도 국제 교류 프로그램을 확대해 해외 인재 유치와 글로벌 캠퍼스 경쟁력 강화를 지속하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Daegu University (President Park Soon-jin) hosted a delegation from Assumption Iloilo High School, a prestigious private school in the Philippines, on February 26th to showcase its global educational infrastructure.
The visit, part of Assumption Iloilo High School's Study Abroad Education Program (STEP), allowed students and accompanying teachers to experience Korea's university educational environment firsthand.
The program began with a welcoming meeting between President Park Soon-jin and the visiting teachers. President Park welcomed the delegation, emphasizing the importance of expanding educational exchange and cooperation between the two countries.
The university introduction session then highlighted Daegu University's internationalization capabilities. The introduction of the English Track degree program, which will be offered entirely in English at the International College starting in March, attracted significant interest from local students. Information was also provided on short-term Korean cultural experience programs for international students.
After the briefing, the delegation toured key campus facilities, including the Changpa Library, to observe the educational environment. Students also participated in an experiential program where they could try on Joseon royal attire, providing an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Korean culture.
Daegu University President Park Soon-jin stated, "This was a meaningful opportunity for outstanding students from the Philippines to experience Korean education and culture firsthand.
