【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주대학교는 통일부가 주관하는 2026년 ‘지역통일교육센터’ 공모사업에 최종 선정됐다고 5일 밝혔다.
통일부는 공모를 거쳐 권역별 지역통일교육센터 운영기관 10곳을 선정했다.
충북에서는 청주대가 2024년에 이어 재지정됐다.
이번 선정으로 청주대는 2028년 2월까지 주민과 학생 등을 대상으로 순회 강좌, 평화통일 체험학습, 지역 특화 통일 문화 행사 등 충북 맞춤형 통일 교육을 수행한다.
또 유관기관과 통일 관련 연합사업을 진행하고, 평화와 통일에 관한 지역 공감대 형성을 위한 사회적 대화도 추진한다.
아울러 통일뿐만 아니라 다문화, 사회통합 등을 이해할 수 있는 '시민대학' 프로그램도 운영한다.
충북통일교육센터장인 청주대 김윤배 총장은 “통일은 우리 민족과 국가 미래”라며 “국가 미래 번영을 위해 지역에 통일 필요성과 당위성을 홍보하는 것은 물론, 통일 염원이 확산될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 청주대는 건학정신과 실학성세의 교육이념 아래 ‘통일구국’을 구현하며 2011년부터 2017년까지 충북통일교육센터를 운영한 바 있다.
